Floral Sympathy Card

Unfortunately, I needed to make a sympathy card for a co-worker and dear friend who just lost her brother after a long battle with cancer. I just couldn't make myself use black and white, so I chose pink and brown instead.
The card stock and sentiment stamp (Mega Mixed Messages set) are from Papertrey Ink and the image is from a Stampendous set called Floral Swirls. I only inked and stamped a portion of the image. Both the image and the sentiment were stamped using brown ink. I added some ribbon and a few self-adhesive pearls.
For the inside, I printed a computer generated sentiment. Then, using Versamark Dazzle in the champagne color, I stamped the entire flower image over my sentiment.

  3. Your card really is lovely. Sadly, I had to make two with sympathy cards today too. I know this will bring comfort to your co-worker. The best think you can do is to be there for her and this card is just a way to show that you are there for her. :0) XOXO, Julie.

  6. Love the card. You said you used computer generated sentiments. Do you get these from a certain site?

Also, glad to see a fellow Missourian that wants to make cards.
