I Think I Need A Tropical Vacation

The Life's a Beach cartridge has been calling my name ... the flip flops are just too cute! This was made using the card feature cut fit-to-page on a 8.5 x 11 sheet of black card stock. The finished card size is a square 5 x 5. I cut the layers from a light peach paper and added some beads using a quick drying white glue. Then I cut the flowers, inked their edges, added a little doodling and then pop dotted them. Next, I lined the card with a checked paper that I'm calling mango (because it sounds so tropical). To finish, I cut the word 'Enjoy' using the Graphically Speaking cartridge ... it's doodled and pop dotted as well. All in all, this card was fun, quick and cute. What more could you ask for?

I Love The Home Decor Cupcake

I've entered this in the Ribbon-Tastic challenge at
This is such a great cut ... it always turns out looking impressive.

I ran the pink paper through my crimper to make it look like a cupcake paper, then I Cuttlebugged and glittered the 'frosting'. To top it off, I embossed the cherry with clear embossing powder to give it a little shine. Then I finished it with some stitching and a pretty ribbon ... quick and simple.

Here's a look at the inside. The tag is a cut from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More and the sentiment stamps are from my new favorite Stampin' Up set.

April's Birthday and Peachy Keen Challenge 23

This is a card for my friend April. It also happens to work for the current challenge at Peachy Keen. The image is a stamp from Peachy Keen, colored with Twinkling H2Os. This is my first project with Twinklings and I really think I'm going to like them. The colors are so shimmery ... my photos really don't do them justice!

My yellow cardstock layer was embossed with the Cuttlebug Argyle folder and my image was cut and embossed using a Nestibilities.

The sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up and I added a little ribbon and a little bling.

2010 Valentines

It's been a long time since I've posted to my blog ... life has gotten in the way recently ... but I did get the chance to make some Valentines. For the first Valentine, I used patterned paper from Stampin' Up and trimmed the bottom edge with a Martha Stewart punch. The scalloped squares are from Storybook and the hearts are from Plantin SchoolBook (using the Roly Poly feature key). The face stamps are from Peachy Keen, and the sentiment is a $1 stamp from Michael's.

This one is very simple: The cut is from the Love Struck cartridge (cut at 3.25) and I added a couple of dimensional stickers from a set I got in a bargain bin.

Finally, I am a member of Rotary International and our local chapter sends Valentines to the residents of nursing homes in our area. These little cards are 4.25 x 2.75. On the front are hearts that were cut using Doodlecharms and stamped with an image from Stampin' Up. On the back is a computer generated sentiment ... designed by my wonderful daughter Stacey. Her help was really appreciated, as I made 304 of these!!
