Graduation 2016

It's that time of year ... Graduation! Here's a couple of cards I've made for the graduation party season.

For Taylor:

This is a 4.25" x 5.5" card. The images are stamps from Papertrey Ink's 'Filled with Joy' stamp set ... I used a variety of Papertrey dye inks. I used a little clear Wink of Stella on the center of each of the flowers. It's hard to see in the photo, but it added a really nice shimmer. The sentiment is from one of the Close To My Heart Cricut bundle stamp sets, embossed with white embossing powder. The aperture was cut with a Nestabilities die and I used craft foam to pop up the stamped layer.  The envelope was made using piece of paper from Echo Park's Be Mine collection and the Stamping' Up Envelope Punch Board (my new favorite thing!).

For Nick:

This card is 5"x 5". The designer paper is from the DCWV 'The High School' Stack. The dark gray layer was embossed with the 'Diamond Plate' Cuttlebug folder. I stamped the light gray layer with the Stampendous '2 Grad Cap' stamp and embossed it with American Crafts Zing Pewter embossing powder, then cut it out using a Nestabilites die and popped it up using black craft foam. I finished by making an envelope with a random piece of gray textured card stock.

I'm happy with both of these and ready for the parties!!

Rotary Valentines 2011

Each year, our Rotary Club sends Valentines to the residents of the nursing homes in our community. For some reason, I always volunteer to make them and I usually underestimate how long it will take. I had hoped to get these done by Wednesday so we would have plenty of time to get them delivered, but that didn't happen. I did, however, have them finished by Friday morning so all is good. Since I have so many of these to make ... this year 260 ... I try to keep the design simple. I found value packs of 12"x12" cardstock at Joann's in white, red and kraft. That kept making these economical.

The base is 4"x4" with the corners rounded. The white layer was cut at 3.75"x3.75" using the Lacy Labels Cricut cartridge, and the heart is from the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art  cartridge. I used my Gypsy to size and cut the hearts ... the size for them is 3.57"x3.09". The 'Be Mine' is a stamp from the My Creative Time "You Had Me at Chocolate" set.

On the reverse, I used the Valentine Script stamp from Stampendous. Then printed a sentiment on clear mailing labels to finish (using labels kinda feels like cheating, but they worked). These are pictures of the sample I made for these cards. Originally, I put a dab of Frosted Lace Stickles in the center of each flower cut on the heart ... that didn't make it to the final cards. The thought of putting Stickles on 260 cards was a little overwhelming and probably not a very good idea to begin with!!

Floral Sympathy Card

Unfortunately, I needed to make a sympathy card for a co-worker and dear friend who just lost her brother after a long battle with cancer. I just couldn't make myself use black and white, so I chose pink and brown instead.
The card stock and sentiment stamp (Mega Mixed Messages set) are from Papertrey Ink and the image is from a Stampendous set called Floral Swirls. I only inked and stamped a portion of the image. Both the image and the sentiment were stamped using brown ink. I added some ribbon and a few self-adhesive pearls.
For the inside, I printed a computer generated sentiment. Then, using Versamark Dazzle in the champagne color, I stamped the entire flower image over my sentiment.

Be Merry

This is the last of my Christmas cards. I made a dozen of these to send to family and friends. The patterned paper is from a DCWV Christmas pack and, for the light teal layer, I used a snowflake stamp from Stampin' Up with Champagne Versa Mark to create a soft back ground. The 'be merry' is a stamp from Whipper Snappers. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the leaves and added some self-adhesive pearls.

For the inside, more Versa Mark snowflakes on a medium teal layer. The sentiment stamp is from Stampendous.

Christmas Bella Card

This is one of my Christmas cards for this year. I made a dozen of these for my sisters and some special 'girl friends'. The image is from Stamping Bella, colored with Stampin' Up markers. The sentiment stamp is from Stampendous. I used the George cartridge to cut the circle and rectangles, the Gypsy Wanderings cartridge for the scalloped circle and the Tag, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge for the sentiment tag. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

If you look closely, you'll see I used Martha Stewart tinsel glitter on Bella's hat and boots, and I used Martha Stewart microbeads for the holly berries. Martha has come up with some really cool bling!

For the inside, I used the Winter Woodland cartridge for the holly and Gypsy Wandering for the "Fabulous". The inside is not quite what I had in mind, but it's works. Overall, I'm happy with this one ... hope you like it too!

Two Challenges, One Card

With this card, I'm combining two challenges. At The Cuttlebug Spot, the challenge was to use Brown with either Blue or Orange or both, and this layout is from MojoMonday. I made an A2 size card using brown card stock and topped it with orange card stock embossed using the Spots & Dots cuttlebug folder. The patterned paper is called Retrogrunge... I downloaded it from Designer Digitals. The image is from Stampendous, colored with Prismas and OMS and then cut using Nestabilites small classic oval. The blue scalloped oval was cut at 2" using my Cricut with the Storybook cartridge. I added a little ribbon, brads and pop dots. Hope you like it.
